Christmas starts too early

ant's eye-view of a christmas party picnic

Our pre-school Christmas picnic (resplendent with Santa in full regalia) was on at Illawarra Live Steamers over the weekend.  Tiny steam trains that you can ride around a purpose built track in the wilds of North Wollongong plus happy, tiny children – it was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours.  But Christmas celebrations in November? Oh dearie dearie dear dear me!

Perhaps it’s just bah-hum-blah-blah but the elongation of Christmas related festivities leaves me reeling. I’ll reserve my ‘evils of capitalism’ rant for another time but let’s just say, I’d rather we kept the tinsel and ho ho ho-ing as December-specific activities.
